Bits and things

USC is tied for last place in the conference with Washington State. I guess this weekend is the game to see who really is the worst. ( i know that this is probably the one time i will ever get to write that, so...)

Maryland lost to Middle Tennessee State for the second year in a row, bringing down the rankings of the Bears in some computers. But, actually, Middle Tennessee State is kinda for real this year, beating Memphis while only losing to Clemson so far. their BCS average computer ranking right now is 53rd. I predict at the end of the year that Maryland get Bowl eligible again. They will creep up on some folks. Unless, like Sampson, Ralph Fridgen has lost something by shedding the 100 pounds he lost.

Oregon had probably the ugliest victory of the weekend, with Jeremiah Masoli passing 4 of 16 attempts, for a total of 95 yards and a pick. They won by rushing a freshman for over 150 yards. The Bears have a pretty good run defense. Let's put it on Masoli's shoulders to win this game.

USC has scored two offensive touchdowns in the last two games. The three yard plunge after the interception return against Ohio State I am excluding. LSU scored 31, and IDAHO scored 23 against Washington. USC - 13. WOW!!! Looks like the old adage about a senior QB in the Pac 10 is true. Jake Locker is the real deal.

GO BEARS!!
